  1. I’m most confused by his definite article usage: “the terrorists have shown over and over again […]”.

Or is that supposed to be a capitalized proper noun now?

  2. Well I’m convinced! Did I mention I repeatedly hit myself in the head with a hammer this morning before watching those clips!

I don’t know about the claim that universal health care systems lead to terrorism. I do know that private health care systems lead to terrorism! Since I don’t have medical insurance I am terrified of going to the doctor because I might not be able to pay for it. I live with that fear every day.

  3. would it be overreaching to say that fox was fishing for an angle to pique interest and sell advertising airtime? Basically to generate a controversy?

  4. The fact that the NHS recruits plenty of doctors from overseas (who may or may not be terrorists) does not mean that American socialized health care would have to do the same. It means nothing with respect to the American debate on universal health care.

Nor does the fact that the British health care system has troubles mean that a socialized American system will have the same problems. I would rather wait for surgery for two months and not have to pay for it (other than with my already ample tax dollars) than not get the surgery at all because I can’t afford it.

I have no idea how anyone lets Cavuto get away with this crap, or who decided to frame this debate in these terms. I’m steadily losing whatever faith I had left in American journalism.
